Introduction to calligraphy
Calligraphy and hand-lettering are art forms that are beautiful and easily accessible to anyone with the ability to pick up a pen or pencil.
This workshop will be an introduction to these art forms and will provide all you need to continue and develop your skills in your own time.This course is suitable for both beginners who'd like to learn the basics and more advanced calligraphers who'd like to improve their skills and understanding of composition.
Book one day or choose to book two and take your skills further. Beginners can book on to any session date.For beginners the first day would comprise of getting to grips with the basics - how to hold the pen, making the basic shapes, beginning to form the letters from example sheets etc. Most beginners are surprised at how quickly they can get to grips with making beautiful letter shapes by the end of the day. More advanced calligraphers can choose what aspects they'd like to develop and several project ideas will be provided unless they have one already that they'd like to bring.
For those booking a second week will be used to develop skills and progress work started in the first.All basic materials will be provided though participants are welcome to bring their own tools

We need a minimum of 4 people to run this workshop and the workshop is open to 10 years and over if accompanied by a full paying adult.
