Each class will guide you through a number of techniques that you will work on in the class and then work on between classes. You will make 12 12”blocks using rotary cutting, machine piecing, English paper patchwork, applique, foundation piecing, hand and machine quilting and binding. You will make the following blocks together with 2 foundation pieced ones to make a 40” x 53” quilt. Ohio star Wild goose chase Card trick Churn dash Log cabin Drunkard’s path Tumbling blocks Grandmother’s flower Dresden plate Rose of Sharon FABRIC REQUIREMENTS 8 fat quarters of 100% cotton coordinating fabrics – a mixture of dark, medium and light tones. 1m background fabric that coordinates with your patchwork fabric. Backing fabric is also required but this will be discussed in week one. PLEASE ALSO BRING Reel of 100% cotton thread in a neutral colour (light grey/beige) Quilt rulers and rotary cutters will be provided and there will be the opportunity to purchase these during the workshop. The sessions are led by Tanya. We need a minimum of three people to run this course. People do cancel and we do hold waiting lists.
