Botanical Gelli plate printing
Create a selection of beautiful botanical prints using freshly cut plants from the garden. This playful session will enable you to make a beautiful selection of one-off prints.
Gelli plate printing is a fun and versatile form of mono-printing that uses a soft, reusable plate made from a gel-like substance. Unlike traditional printmaking, it does not require a press or complex equipment, making it very accessible.
There are so many ways and materials which can be used to create a print using a gelli plate; it is possible to quickly have a huge range of unique, one-of-a-kind prints. This is a very playful printing process which encourages exploration and creativity with endless possibilities.
What will we cover?
We will explore various printing techniques to achieve a variety of different outcomes.
You will have a chance to experiment with layering colours to add depth and complexity to your prints
There will be the opportunity to make some cards with your prints.

Tutor
Hattie is a multi-media artist creating painted abstract landscapes into which she incorporates her own printed collage pieces. Her work is currently on view at Shoreham Art Gallery. Hattie has taught art to adults for many years. Until 2022, she worked as part of the rehabilitation team of a military charity, teaching a wide variety of art techniques as part of the rehabilitation process. Since then, Hattie has focused on her own work and teaching printing in a variety of venues across Sussex, creating a fun and informal atmosphere in her classes.
