What will we cover?

If you’ve been wanting to learn brush lettering, this is the perfect introduction.

Your tutor Laura will teach you how to use her favourite brush lettering tool, a Pentel Colour Brush, which is yours to keep.

After a short demo, you’ll work through a comprehensive set of worksheets, beginning with the basic strokes needed to create letters. After practising each letter of the alphabet, you’ll move onto writing words.

The final part of the workshop will focus on how to create expressive strokes. You’ll then complete a full quote to take away and frame if you wish.

How will I be taught?

You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.

You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

Suitable for complete beginners.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

All materials are provided.

What will I take home with me?

You’ll leave with your beautifully-written quote, all your practice sheets, and your Pentel pen, so you can keep going at home.

Laura has always been creative. From a very young age she was always drawing, and she studied art at degree level. A career in fashion design and buying became her focus, but when she took a career break to have her son, she rediscovered her love of all things artistic. She started her 'Love' business empire - LoveLetters (calligraphy), LovePetpics (pet portraits), and LoveFlowers (flowercrown parties) - and now can always be found painting, writing, drawing, making, planning or designing. Something creative every day!
