This workshop is a brilliant opportunity to introduce your child to a sewing machine. Sewing is a life skill and a wonderful skill to gift

All you need to do is drop them off. We’ll give them a drink and a biscuit and have them waiting with a lovely fabric storage box, perfect for those Halloween treats!

Our tutor is DBS checked.

What will we cover?

In this session your child will make a fabulous fabric storage box perfect for keeping all sorts of bits and pieces in. They will learn simple quilting and 3D construction techniques.

How will I be taught?

Your child will be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced childrens’ tutor, through demonstration and guidance as they work.

 

With the opportunity to ask questions throughout, your child will get the best experience they can whilst making sure everything is clear.

 

Our tutor is DBS checked.

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

This workshop is open to 8 years and over and is the perfect opportunity for your child to be introduced to a sewing machine.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

All materials are provided – just drop them off and when you pick them up they’ll be holding their very own storage box

What will I take home with me?

Their own handmade storage box

Barbara has loved her career as a dedicated Textiles teacher for over 40 years. Having started in Yorkshire schools she has witnessed many changes to the curriculum over the years, but she has always been passionate about developing and bringing out the creativity of the students she has taught. Now that she has retired she has more time for herself and can spend all day in her own work room whenever she wants, what could be better?
