Creative coiled pots

This is a fun one!

These lovely pots are quite addictive to make and mesmerising to watch them grow on your machine. We are delighted to welcome guest tutor Molly Brown who is a veteran tutor from lots of the national shows.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who has just a little experience of using a sewing machine.

What will we cover?

In this 2.5 hour workshop you will make your own pot and possibly a second. As well as have time to experiment with embellishments. Molly will demonstrate how to add handles and wrap the cord with fabric to add variation and colour to your pots. The uses for the pots are too many to list here and they can be made in a variety of sizes. Molly also provides a detailed worksheet with colour step by step pictures and useful hints and tips to remind you for when you want to make more at home.

Familiarity with using a machine is useful.

How will I be taught?

You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.

You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

This workshop is suitable for anyone who has just a little experience of using a sewing machine.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

All materials are supplied. We recommend bringing your own machine with you (please don’t forget the leads and the manual). If you have an open toe presser foot some people find that helpful.

What will I take home with me?

Your own Coiled Pot and the skills to make many more!

Drinks and biscuits will be available but we recommend that you bring a packed lunch with you.

During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
