Cricut workshop – Crepe paper Iris flowers
Springtime is around the corner, but until the real flowers bloom, let’s make our own! For those who want to learn more about how to use a Cricut™ cutting machine to make lovely things and connect with fellow Cricut crafters, this one’s for you!
* Please note that you don’t need your own Cricut cutting machine to attend this workshop. *
What will we cover?
You will learn how to use and cut pre-designed projects with the Cricut Maker cutting machine and its rotary blade, to work with crepe paper, and to assemble 3 beautiful artful iris flowers.
For this workshop’s time management, the petals and flower parts will be pre-cut for your personal blooms so everyone will have plenty of time to get creative and finish your small bouquet. After the live cutting and teaching demo of how to cut crepe paper, you’ll be able to customise your flowers through your choice of various petal colours and soft pastel pigments.
How will I be taught?
You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor and our official local Cricut Ambassador through live demonstration and guidance as you work. There will be visual aids such as a projector and large screen while teaching Cricut Design Space™ basics along with summarised written instructions.
You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear, and that you’re getting the best results you can
Do I need any previous experience or skills?
All beginners and Cricut-loving fans are welcome! While we will be learning the basics of Cricut and how to cut delicate paper, all skill sets will find something enjoyable as we create crepe paper iris flowers together alongside some crafty chat.
Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?
All project materials, supplies, and tools are included in your workshop fee.
If you are wanting to learn more about using your own Cricut cutting machine, you are welcome to bring your machine to set up, ask questions, and get some one-on-one help while you make and as time allows. Please make sure that your Cricut Design Space app is downloaded on your device of choice.
If you have low vision, please let Chelsea know ahead of time so she can adjust her projector screens or make sure you have a seat closer to her for the live demonstrations.
What will I take home with me?
By the end of our session, you’ll take home 3 crepe paper irises that will last forever to be displayed in your home or gift to someone special for springtime, and you will have made some new local Cricut-loving friends!

Tutor
As a former classroom art teacher and retired wedding photographer originally from the States, Chelsea finds joy in making life more beautiful through her work and teaching others to inspire themselves with their own creative spark. From 2016, she worked with Cricut U.S. as a self-employed freelancer to create online wedding tutorials, represent the wedding niche at media events, and teach at Cricut conferences. Now in the UK, she is an official Cricut UK Ambassador who does in-store demonstrations in Sussex and hosts artful Cricut and craft workshops under her Make with Chelsea brand. When she's away from the craft room, she loves to read romantasy and historical fiction books, travel with her British husband, seek out the best gluten-free food (particularly desserts!), and quietly relax at home with their cats, Pickles Barrington and Juniper McIntyre.
