Crochet a jumper

crochet jumper workshop
Crocheted garments look fabulous and are certainly very on trend but where to start in crocheting your own?
It can be confusing trying to work out all the maths, to make sure that the design repeats and that is garment is the right size. In this workshop accomplished crochet designer Eleonora Tully, aka Coastal Crochet,  will be showing the different approaches to crocheting a jumper or top and how to ensure that it actually fits!

9:30 am - 2:30 pm

What will we cover?

Eleonora will go step by step into how a garment such as a jumper or top can be made. From choosing the base motif (this can be a simple granny square or a square with different crochet stitches), to how the garment is constructed. Joining the squares and also how to add some shaping so your garment will fit.
It’s not possible to crochet a whole garment in the time of the workshop but Eleonora will share lots of tips and techniques and provide you with all you need to then finish at home.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught in our inspiring, but relaxing, studio by an experiences and published crochet designer. You will be able to learn at your own pace and ask as many questions as you can think of!

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

This workshop is suitable for advanced beginners. You will need a basic understanding of crochet and be able to do basic stitches.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

Bring along any jumper or top that you know fits you well – we’ll be using that as a starting point to creating your own new crocheted jumper or top.
You will need to bring your own yarns and hooks to the workshop and you canbring a variety of yarns to experiment with different results and sizes if you wish.
A good starting point is a DK weight yarn – whether that’s acrylic, wool, cotton or a blend is entirely up to you and how the yarn will feel against your skin.

What will I take home with me?

You will have made a start on your chosen crochet garment and have the skills to finish it off at home.

Drinks and biscuits will be available but we recommend that you bring a packed lunch with you.

During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
