Do you want a relaxing weekend of crochet? Can you begin to imagine what your could get done? Would you like to learn new techniques and have your crochet questions answered? Then join us for a very relaxing weekend of crochet. Spend time enjoying one of your favourite past times in the company of like-minded people.

The crochet retreat is for those that can already crochet from adventurous beginners to accomplished intermediates. It is a chance to get away from it all in peaceful surroundings. To relax and be looked after so that you can spend your time thinking about all things hooky.

This is a informal weekend, with no packed schedules. There will be a weekend project to work through (yarn pack included) and also time for you to continue with your own projects. We will also be on hand to share top techniques in a series of mini workshops. It is entirely up to you how much you do, we’re not going to be bossy.

So here’s how it works…

We will have exclusive use of the cozy 4* Random Hall hotel in Slinfold, West Sussex. This is a get away from it all weekend in a unique, relaxing environment.

Friday 15th October

You can aim arrive any time during the afternoon before our official meet time of 5pm. (Later arrivals are no issue just let us know so we don’t worry). We’ll be able to introduce ourselves, share some crochet stories and do some show and tells before enjoying a two course meal and a relaxed evening of crochet.

Saturday 16th October

Our morning session will start at 9:30am giving you chance to enjoy a relaxed breakfast with no time pressures (what a treat!).  Mini workshops will take place throughout both days and there is a break out lounge available should you wish. Lunch will be served between 1 and 2pm. The afternoon will see us back in the main crochet room with a special workshop session led by a guest tutor until about 5pm.

There will then be a chance to relax before we gather for an evening meal and  an optional fun evening activity. Tea, coffee, cordial and treats will be available throughout the day with short mid morning and afternoon breaks.

Sunday 17th October

Breakfast will be served before we pick up our hooks again. We will break for lunch at about 12:30pm and the retreat will draw to a close by 3pm.

The residential price includes

Shared twin or single room (supplements apply)

Friday – 2 course evening meal

Saturday – breakfast, lunch and 2 course evening meal

Sunday – breakfast and lunch

Please note that a non-residential rate is available and includes participation in the weekend from 9:30am to close on Saturday and Sunday. If you would like the option of enjoying an  evening meal with everybody on Saturday please let us know when you book (additional charge). Additional accommodation can be found at a Travelodge no more than 5 mins drive down the road (

The non-residential rate for the weekend is £199 – This is for Saturday & Sunday day attendance excluding accomodation, breakfast and evening meal on the Saturday.

Terms and Conditions

Prices are per person based on a single room.  Superior and twin rooms are also available with supplement.

50% deposit is payable at time of booking with the balance of the account due on the 31st July 2021. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable. If full payment has not been received by the 31st July 2021 we reserve the right to reallocate your place.

All dietary requirements are catered for. Please help us to be prepared by mentioning at time of booking.

If you change your mind or unable to attend your place can be transferred to someone else if available. After final payment you will only receive a full refund if your can place can be filled by someone else.

Sarah Brangwyn

Owner of Made and Making, Sarah has been sewing all her life. Her passion is helping others to gain the same level of enjoyment from mastering these creative skills. She's known for her infectious enthusiasm, her endless knowledge and for her knack for explaining things clearly, leading to lots of 'aha!' moments. You may have seen her share some of those on the TV channel Sewing Street. In a previous life, Sarah was a branch manager in an insurance firm. Taking redundancy in 2012 allowed her to follow her dream of creating a hub for sewing and craft. At Made and Making Sarah teaches sewing, crochet, needle felting and other craft courses. She's also one of the tutors for the children's workshops. When family life allows, Sarah loves nothing more than immersing herself in her own projects.
