Crossbody bag

Crossbody bag sandhill sling

The crossbody bag, The Sandhill by Noodlehead patterns, is a great make for a confident beginner. A full copy of the pattern is included in the price and will be yours to take home at the end of the session. We are making view A with the front zipped pocket.

This is the ideal size bag that fits all of your necessities in it without allowing it to become overpacked and way too heavy. As a crossbody bag it takes the weight off your shoulders and keeps your essentials out of the way whilst still being easy to access.

Please note that you will need to cut out your fabrics ahead of the session. Cutting details will be attached to your booking confirmation and can be access in the downloads section of your account after purchase. If you think that you may need help cutting out we suggest you consider booking a Sew Friendly session.

What will we cover?

Bag construction can be overwhelming and patterns can seem really complicated so during the workshop we’ll break it down into manageable chunks. Using our hints and tips we will help you construct your bag, deciphering pattern terminology so you can concentrate on the sewing.

The bag has three pockets, an external zipped one, the main body and an elasticated inner one. We’ll take you through the best techniques for inserting the zips to create a professional finish to your bag.

Techniques that you will cover include;

  • Working with zips
  • Using elastic
  • Top stitching
  • Sewing smooth curves

How will I be taught?

You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.

You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.
