Cuff Top

Cuff Top

PRICE INCLUDES A COPY OF THE PATTERN FOR YOU TO TAKE HOME.

This is a summer dressmaking project you will come to use again and again…. this is also a great beginners make so super sewing friendly for all. It works really well in linen and cottons but can be really lovely in fabrics with more drape too.

The pattern comes in a full range of sizes from XS – 4XL . Please make sure that you let us know when booking what size you would like us have to hand for you ( XS-L or XL- 4XL) and see below for how to measure yourself to check.

You will be using the Cuff Top pattern from The Assembly Line, this is one of their most popular patterns.

What will we cover?

You will start the session taking some simple measurements to ensure you have the right size and fit for you. Then you’ll learn the basics of dressmaking; looking at cutting out the pattern, laying out your fabric and making sure that you cut out accurate and correctly marked pieces.

We’ll show you how to construct and finish your garment and how to attach the stylish elasticated cuff sleeve.

This really is a great beginners project.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught in our light and airy inspiring studio by an experienced seamstress who will be able to share all her tips and tricks with you.

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

No previous dressmaking experience is required but it will be to your advantage to feel confident with a sewing machine.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

Please bring along the correct yardage of fabric as per the chart below and matching thread. Please note yardage amounts are based on plain or non directional fabric and you will require more for fabrics where a nap needs to be taken into account.

FIND YOUR SIZE

The Cuff top is a boxy, wide model which makes it an easy fit. Even though there are differences between the size ranges, XS-L has a straight shape and XL-4XL are more curved under arm and has a bust dart, your chest measurement is sufficient for sizing.
