Entrelac Crochet

entrelac june 2019

I am very excited that we have the lovely Coastal Crochet, aka Eleonora, coming to teach this crochet workshop at Made and Making. You may have seen one of her many published patterns in Simply Crochet magazine.

In this workshop Eleonora will be teaching the basics of Entrelac crochet which is a technique based on Tunisian crochet. Eleonora will show the various approaches to Entrelac crochet so you will leave the workshop with a greater knowledge and confidence in using this technique. Eleonora will share a pattern exclusively designed for the workshop that can be turned into either a mobile phone pouch or a crochet hook case. The full written pattern with step by step photos will be yours to take away at the end of the workshop.

What will we cover?

Eleonora will demonstrate various approaches to Entrelac crochet.

You’ll get plenty of time to practise and will leave feeling confident to use this technique in your own projects.

Eleonora will share a pattern exclusively designed for the workshop that can be turned into either a mobile phone pouch or a crochet hook case.

How will I be taught?

You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.

You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

This workshop is suitable for advanced beginners. You will need a basic understanding of crochet and be able to do the basic stitches. Eleonora will be happy to guide you through new stitches where needed.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

You’ll need to bring:

  • a selection of standard crochet hooks, from 4mm to 6mm
  • any DK-weight yarn.

You’re welcome to experiment with different results by bringing a variety of yarns if you wish.

Please note that if you choose to make the crochet hook case, you’ll need to insert the zip after the workshop, so that you can fit it to the size of your finished piece.

What will I take home with me?

You’ll take home your crocheted phone case or crochet hook case.

The full written pattern, with step-by-step photos, will also be yours to take away.

Drinks and biscuits will be available but we recommend that you bring a packed lunch with you.

During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
