Festive fabric fun
Come and spend the session with us making some reusable fabric wrapping for this Christmas.
We will be spending the session making a charming drawstring bag and a fabric box that can be used time and time again and both lend themselves to many uses in lots of different fabrics.

What will we cover?
During this session we will learn some very simple patchwork techniques with our 5″ squares including some simple quilting too. Nothing too daunting to get you on your way to make more for the festive season. We will look at seam allowances, nesting seams and quilting amongst other things.
How will I be taught?
You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.
You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.
Do I need any previous experience or skills?
No prior patchwork experience is needed, but you do need to be able to use a sewing machine.
Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?
You will need
For the bag
40 x 5″ squares (you can look for a precut charm pack or cut your own but please cut as accurately as possible)
half a metre of fabric for the lining
Ribbon
For the fabric box
18 x 5″ squares (as above)
at least 17.5″ squares of wadding – A great project for using up your wadding offcuts
What will I take home with me?
A drawstring bag and fabric storage box and the knowledge to make more!
Refreshments
Drinks and biscuits will be available.
