Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) masterclass inc video support
If you patchwork and want to increase the precision in your work have you ever tried Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP)? A patchwork technique where you stitch on to paper but it allows you to get perfect points on your block. It also allows a lot more freedom in some of those patterns that are not so straight forward using traditional patchwork techniques.
It can be one of those patchwork techniques that we just can’t seem to get our head around, I know it took me a while at the beginning, so let us simplify it. Teaching it to beginners in our sampler course means we have shown hundreds of people how to successfully master FPP and now we can show you. Why not come along and enjoy our session going from a simple block to something a lot more complicated. As we are trying a few things out you can bring your own scraps or make use of some of ours, the choice is yours. The session is all about mastering the technique. We also know it’s not something you do everyday so just like some of our other classes you will go home with access to full video support.

What will we cover?
During this session you will be shown how to undertake FPP, some of the best tools to use and you will work on a variety of FPP patterns to build your skills.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught by an experienced tutor in our light and airy studio.
Do I need any previous experience or skills?
You need to be familiar with a sewing machine so that we can spend the time focusing on the technique. If you have done some patchwork before great, but FPP does not require all the normal patchwork skills so you can be a beginner to patchwork.
Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?
Fabrics are provided but if you want to use up your own scraps feel free.
What will I take home with me?
You will take home some FPP samples that you created and access to a video should you need any reminding in the future.

Tutor
Owner of Made and Making, Sarah has been sewing all her life. Her passion is helping others to gain the same level of enjoyment from mastering these creative skills. She's known for her infectious enthusiasm, her endless knowledge and for her knack for explaining things clearly, leading to lots of 'aha!' moments. You may have seen her share some of those on the TV channel Sewing Street. In a previous life, Sarah was a branch manager in an insurance firm. Taking redundancy in 2012 allowed her to follow her dream of creating a hub for sewing and craft. At Made and Making Sarah teaches sewing, crochet, needle felting and other craft courses. She's also one of the tutors for the children's workshops. When family life allows, Sarah loves nothing more than immersing herself in her own projects.
