Since my first attempt at appliqué, aged 7, my downtime has centred around stitch-crafts. Through the intricate details of hand embroidery, to the precision of dress making, the artful skills of patchwork and quilting and more recently the creative freedom of machine appliqué; I have spent a lifetime indulging my passion for creating with fabric and thread. As a science teacher I have worked with teenagers for over 25 years. I am currently completing a level 3 City and Guilds in Patchwork and Quilting and am now fortunate enough to be able to combine my abilities in teaching with my lifelong hobby. I believe that it’s the imperfections of hand-crafts that make such items unique, and the energy and thought that goes into their creation that makes them the treasured items they become. Happy stitching.
