Learn together Sketchbook Club

sketchbook club workshop

We are delighted to be running the Jennie Maizels’ Sketchbook Club as a learn together session this Summer holiday.

This workshop is for an adult and child (8 years and over) and is a brilliant opportunity to spend time with someone important to you whilst enjoying a morning of creativity.

This is the perfect solution if you would like to enjoying drawing but feel that you can’t, don’t know where to start or would like some regular inspiration. We wouldn’t bake a cake without a recipe or play an instrument without music.

Sketchbook club teaches us that it is not just about drawing from life and that there is nothing wrong with tracing, copying or being told what to do. During the course of the day we will reduce the fear of the blank page and use a variety of techniques to create some wonderful finished pieces.

Starting with a finished example you will be given full instructions and reference sheets so you can create the same design yourself. The wonderful thing about Sketchbook Club, is that every sketchbook is completely different. It is as free as drawing for yourself, but without the fear of the blank page, or the fear of going wrong. Build up a wonderful body of work in your sketchbook whilst learning new techniques, different materials and clever tricks and tips.

Laura Tindorf

Laura has always been creative. From a very young age she was always drawing, and she studied art at degree level. A career in fashion design and buying became her focus, but when she took a career break to have her son, she rediscovered her love of all things artistic. She started her 'Love' business empire - LoveLetters (calligraphy), LovePetpics (pet portraits), and LoveFlowers (flowercrown parties) - and now can always be found painting, writing, drawing, making, planning or designing. Something creative every day!
