Mosaic crochet with Coastal Crochet

mosaic crochet
Mosaic Crochet is a little like magic! The patterns created can look amazing, colourful and complex but only one colour is used at any one time across the rows and the stitches used are only a combination of double crochet, trebles and chains… it’s surprisingly simple and much easier than it looks.

What will we cover?

There are two popular ways to create mosaic crochet – ‘Overlay’ and ‘Inset’. The techniques have similarities as they are both Mosaic Crochet but there are some very distinct differences too.
People will often have a preference, sometimes their favourite being the technique they learned first, but knowing both mosaic crochet methods, their similarities, their differences and the benefits to each will give you the confidence to take on both.
In this workshop Eleonora will take you through all the steps and stitches you need to make two different mosaic crochet samples that can then be used as a coaster.

How will I be taught?

In our light and airy studio by the lovely Eleonora from Coastal Crochet

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

This workshop is suitable for confident beginners who wish to learn the mosaic technique

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

You need to bring any DK weight yarns and a hook size half a size bigger than what you would usually use with your chosen yarn. Bring at least two colours to get the mosaic effect but more colours is fun!

What will I take home with me?

You will complete two sample pieces that can be used as a coaster after the workshop

Refreshments

Drinks and biscuits will be available

Photography

During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
