Needle felted bird – Wren
Whether you are an absolute beginner or have the basics under your belt this is for you. During this workshop you will learn the fun technique of 3d needle felting whilst making this lovely little wren. You will understand the whole process including how to make 3d structures and then use natural colours to create your own wren. All these skills are totally transferable so you can use the same skills to make your own menagerie or something totally different!
What will we cover?
This charming little wren is made using needle felting, a fascinating technique where intricate 3-dimensional shapes can be sculpted from wool roving using special needles. Each wren will have their own unique character.
Would make a lovely addition to your home or perhaps a gift for a special friend.
How will I be taught?
You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.
You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.
Do I need any previous experience or skills?
No, this is the great thing. You can be an absolute beginner or have undertaken this sort of needle felting before. There is always something to learn from our experienced tutor.
Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?
All materials are provided so turn up and have fun!
What will I take home with me?
Your own needle felted wren and loads of needle felting knowledge for other projects.

Tutor
Suzy is an accomplished and experienced felt maker. She uses both wet and needle felting techniques to produce accessories, toys, jewellery and ornaments, and thoroughly enjoys sharing the possibilities that felt making has to offer. She is also a keen sewer, and produces her own jewellery designs. Suzy has been a schoolteacher since 1997, and has been a subject leader for craft, design and technology. She currently combines her long-standing interest in crafts with part-time teaching and a busy family life in Hassocks.
