Online Zentangle® course

Introduction zentangle

Have you heard of The Zentangle® Method? It is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.  It was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.

We are delighted to be welcoming Zentangle® tutor Sheila Murray to deliver this 5 week online course as an introduction to this technique.

The course will provide you with a background in the history of Zentangle®, introduce you to the basic steps of the method, vocabulary and tools used.  If you can write you name, you can create art with The Zentangle® Method.

This is a thoroughly relaxing activity, absorbing and a great way to step away from it all for just one hour a week. During the 5 week course you will become familiar with the Zentangle® techniques and create you own style and work guided and inspired by Sheila.

The course will run on Zoom and you are encouraged to tangle along with Sheila live but recordings will be available with 24 hours of the session so don’t worry if you have a schedule clash.

Sheila Murray

Hello, my name is Sheila Murray. I live in the Cotswolds and am married with children and four grandchildren, enjoying retirement from the Corporate world. I am an “exploring” artist and having spent 30 years with Patchwork & Quilting I felt it was time to widen my horizon to other crafts that I had yearned to try. Today, I work with mixed media, eco-dyeing, modern calligraphy and my favourite is Zentangle®. I’ve been working and teaching The Zentangle® Method, created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas for over seven years. This has opened up a great many opportunities for me, especially teaching as I enjoy working with others, sharing and helping with skills that some find difficult to achieve.
