What will we cover?

Prepare to be amazed! Postage stamp patchwork may look fiddly, but we’ll show you a technique that makes it quick, simple and fun to sew. Don’t be daunted by the size, this really is a clever technique!

We do the hard work for you, cutting Liberty of London fabrics fabric into 1.5 squares in advance of our session. This frees you up to spend your time coordinating your own patchwork design.

Once it’s sewn together, you’ll use your patchwork to make a beautiful zipped pouch. Add a tassle and you’ve got yourself a lovely relaxed day clutch.

You’ll learn some basic principles of patchwork and quilting, as well as how to make a pouch and insert a zip.

How will I be taught?

You’ll be taught by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.

You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

No prior patchwork experience is needed, but you do need to be able to use a sewing machine.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

Please bring your own sewing machine with foot pedal and accessories (inc zipper foot) and a sewing kit including scissors.

All materials are supplied. We’ll be offering a wide variety of Liberty of London fabrics to choose from, but you are of course welcome to provide your own 1.5 squares (which will need to be pre-cut).

What will I take home with me?

A postage stamp patchwork zipped pouch made in gorgeous Liberty fabric and a full set of instructions to make more at home.

Refreshments

Drinks and biscuits will be available but we recommend that you bring a packed lunch with you.

Photography

During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
