Punch Needle for Beginners
This class is ideal for beginners who are interested in learning the basics and how to use the punch needle, and how to transfer your chosen design onto the fabric.
There will be a selection of designs for your inspiration or feel free to draw your own. The class will cover how to combine different yarns so you can create different effects and textures.
What will we cover?
Lucy will go through all the tools and materials you will need to create your hoop art. This will include, how to use the punch needle, which fabrics and yarns are best to use for punch needle. We will then move onto transferring our designs on to the fabric ready to punch. We will then spend the rest of the workshop creating you piece, learning different ways how to use the needle to create different textures.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught by Lucy in person, she will be creating alongside you and will help with any tricky punch needle questions you may have.
Do I need any previous experience or skills?
No, none at all, Lucy will teach you all you need to know.
Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?
All materials will be provided but if you have a specific colour palette or theme in mind please do bring any chunky wool you have available.
What will I take home with me?
You will take a beautifully created punch needle hoop art.

Tutor
Lucy is a textile designer and maker specialising in weaving and punch needle. She has been featured in many publications including Mollie Makes and Elle Decoration. She is the author of 3 craft books and you can often find her hosting workshops in the South of England passing on her textile skills.
