beginners quilling workshop

Have you heard of paper quilling or paper filigree? It is the art of paper rolling which followed by a bit of bending and moulding will allow you to create a variety of shapes. It is a skill which dates back as far as the 4th and 5th centuries.

During this workshop you will learn a variety of skills including basic quilling techniques, creating simple shapes; coils and scrolls before freehand looping and the assembling of your quilling pieces into decorative designs. Designs will be mounted on to card in the workshop but quilling can be used to create a variety of stunning art.

You are supplied with a beginners kits which you get to keep and take home at the end of the session.

Our quilling workshops are led by Sarah.

Refreshments

Drinks and biscuits will be available but we recommend that you bring a packed lunch with you.

Tutor

Sarah Brangwyn

Owner of Made and Making, Sarah has been sewing all her life. Her passion is helping others to gain the same level of enjoyment from mastering these creative skills. She's known for her infectious enthusiasm, her endless knowledge and for her knack for explaining things clearly, leading to lots of 'aha!' moments. In a previous life, Sarah was a branch manager in an insurance firm. Taking redundancy in 2012 allowed her to follow her dream of creating a hub for sewing and craft. At Made and Making Sarah teaches sewing, crochet, needle felting and other craft courses. She's also one of the tutors for the children's workshops. When family life allows, Sarah loves nothing more than immersing herself in her own projects.
