Quillow open

Have you ever heard of a quillow?  A quillow is a quilt that becomes a pillow making it the perfect travel companion. It can be used as a quilt one minute or niftily converted to a comfy pillow the next.

During this beginners workshop you will firstly learn how to make a lone star quilt top in a rainbow of fabrics. Once pieced you will go on to quilt this using wadding and backing fabric and then convert to a pillow. We’ll make it even better by providing all the fabrics and wadding that you need (fabrics will differ from the photo but are Makower fabrics and will retain the rainbow theme). You just need to bring along your sewing machine (or you can borrow ours if you would prefer) and enjoy the day. We’ve taken away all the stress of finding your supplies by supplying everything that you need.

Make it as a perfect present for a grandchild or niece or perhaps as a brilliant picnic solution for your best friend.

You will learn the basics of machine piecing, basting and  quilting using the precut kit. You’ll be able to ask loads of questions as we go along and  have all the support that you need. Please note that you need to be  comfortable with using a sewing machine.

At the end of the workshop you will take home your quillow, finished size approx 53″ square. You will also take away a detailed handout so that you can make another at home.
