Scrappy Patchwork pouch
Come along and make a fabulous patchwork zipper pouch from leftover scraps. Learn to make a handy zipper pouch using the stitch and flip, quilt as you go method. These pouches are great gifts, and you can make use of treasured pieces of fabrics to hold those memories. You’ll learn to put a zip into a pouch, how to quilt as you go and to stitch and flip. All you need to be able to do is sew a simple straight stitch on your machine.
You’ll go home with a fabulous zipper pouch and all the skills needed to make more of these in your own time.
What will we cover?
You will learn how to piece scraps of fabric using the flip and stitch method and quilt as you go. You will learn how to insert a zip and make a pouch.

In our light and airy studio by our friendly and experienced tutor
Do I need any previous experience or skills?
This workshop is suitable for beginners to patchwork but you do need to know how to use a sewing machine.
Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?
You can bring along your sewing machine (including zipper foot and walking foot if you have one) or you are welcome to borrow one of ours. Don’t forget your basic sewing kit, some neutral thread and if you have a rotary cutter and ruler these will be useful. Remember your bag of cotton scraps if you have some that you want to make use of. There will be some scrap bags available to choose from on the day too if you don’t yet have a stash of scraps.
You’ll need some fabric for the lining, please bring 2 pieces 9.5″ x 6.5″
Zips and interfacing will be provided.
