Sew Relaxing weekend retreat

sewing weekend retreat

Our sewing weekend retreat is for those who would enjoy the opportunity to have two days of uninterrupted sewing activity with chat, laughter and plenty of tea. It is a chance to get away from it all, complete a project or two (or maybe finish a small stash of part done projects) pick up some great tips and relax in the facilities and surroundings of the 4 star East Sussex National hotel near Uckfield. All are welcome whether you are a dressmaker, quilter or patchworker, you just need to be sewing!

This is a relaxed weekend, with no packed schedules. You will be working on your own projects – starting new ones or finishing WIPs. During the course of the weekend you will be able to pick up top tips in our helpful ‘how to’ sessions. It is entirely up to you how much you do, we’re not going to be bossy. We will be asking you ahead of the event what type of project /sewing that you will be working on over the weekend so that we can tailor our sessions appropriately.

Our dedicated sewing room is large, light and airy. Everyone will have their own personal sewing space, power and access to irons. It is recommended that you bring your own machine and sewing kit to the weekend although it is possible to book one of our machines and we will have a supply of essential equipment in case of forgotten items.

So here’s how it works…

Saturday 13th November

Arrival at 9:30 for a 10am start in the sewing room. Enough time to meet up and introduce ourselves before setting up the machines. There will also be an opportunity to book yourself in for any of the ‘helpful how to’ sessions that will be running through the weekend (at no extra cost).

Lunch will be served between 1 and 2pm. A hot and cold buffet in the hotel restaurant and time to come up for air before an afternoon back at the machines. Tea, coffee and cordial will be available throughout the day with short mid morning and afternoon breaks.

A 3 course dinner will be served in the restaurant following which there will be the opportunity to return to the sewing room, relax in the bar or enjoy some of the hotel facilities.

Sunday 14th November

Start your day as early as you like with the hotel breakfast served between 7am and 9:30am. The sewing room will open from 9am with more helpful ‘how to’ sessions. Another buffet lunch at 12:30 before the retreat will draw to a close at 4pm.
