Twister boxy tote

twister bag square

You can never have enough bags and this one will be a great addition. It’s a good every day size perfect for a trip to the park, taking everything to work, or carrying on your arm with pride whilst shopping. A nice generous size the bag benefits from a hidden internal pocket, using an invisible zip, keeping all your valuables cleverly out of sight.

The twister boxy tote has this simple but effective patchwork design on the front which uses only nine 5″ squares of fabric so this might be the chance to find some of your favourites or uses up some left over scraps. We have teamed ours with classic denim but you could use a nice canvas or linen fabric depending on the look you are after. Depending on the weight of your fabric it may benefit from interfacing but just ask if you are not sure.

The finished size is approx 16″ wide by 15″ tall and 4″ deep

What will we cover?

The session will start with the construction of the simple, but effective patchwork panel for which you need no previous patchwork experience. We’ll point out everything you need to know.

Then we’ll move on to the construction of the main bag including helping you insert the perfect invisible zip. I love an invisible zipped pocket as they are hardly noticeable keeping your valuables tucked out of sight.

How will I be taught?

You’ll be taught in our lovely studio by a friendly and experienced tutor, through demonstration and guidance as you work.

You’ll also be able to ask questions, making sure everything is clear and that you’re getting the best results you can.

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

Due to the nature of this workshop it is suitable for competent beginners upwards. We will walk you through all of the techniques step by step to help you build your skill set.

Webbing for handle 22” long . Ideally min of 40mm wide

Wadding/fusible fleece approx. 21” x 19”

We ask you come with the following pieces cut out from your fabric (width x height);

What will I take home with me?

At the end of the session you will have your own boxy tote bag to fill to the brim for days out, picnics and trips to the beach.

Plus you will have all the knowledge that you need to go home and make more for yourself, friends and family.
